What is E.164?

E.164 is the global standard for telephone numbering, ensuring every device within the PSTN possesses a globally unique number. This numbering plan facilitates the correct routing of phone calls and text messages to specific phones across the entire world.

E.164 numbers follow the format [+][country code][subscriber number, including area code], with a maximum length of fifteen digits.
